Due to ecologically-sensitive construction to improve roadway safety, wildlife crossing, and visitor amenities on Nature Center Rd. in Wellesley Island State Park, the MAC Nature Center will be closed to road traffic for several weeks beginning September 25. These dates were selected to protect the migration patterns of the endangered Blanding’s turtle population. In support for these greatly anticipated upgrades for both our patrons and wildlife, the Friends of the Nature Center has cancelled the 2023 Autumn Festival.
